My Approach
I am a practical, interactive therapist. My treatment approach incorporates insight, humor, and compassion for clients as they work to uncover and utilize their own unique resources, strengths, and abilities. My role is to be with, support, challenge when appropriate, and help clients.
I employ Interpersonal, Client-Centered and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies uniquely tailored to each client’s goals and needs.
I practice General Psychotherapy and Counseling to help clients identify sources of, and reduce the effects of, issues such as anxiety, stress, frustration, grief, and depression. These can have unwanted negative impact at work or home, in relationships with others, and with the ability to maintain a positive sense of well-being.
Alcohol and substance issues impact the entire family. I work with clients who are exploring the extent and effects of their drinking or drug use, who are in recovery - maintaining sobriety and working on underlying issues - as well as people who are trying to maintain their own equilibrium, or the security of a relationship or family, while being affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use.
